Fit for Leadership, Inc., was founded by Jan Irene Miller to support leaders and managers to bring their organizations and communities to the next step toward a sustainable future. She has access to a broad network of coaches and educators who share her commitment to developing professionals with management and leadership skills.

We are committed to educating professionals in the skills of leadership and management essential for the sustainable performance of organizations and the viability of community.

On this page you see her photographs and paintings which visually exemplify her love of nature and beauty that drives her commitment to support professionals to accomplish their goals.

“Sustainability” embraces a broad spectrum of human and environmental concerns. It is a way of observing designs, strategies and plans in the present and assessing their impact on the concerns of the future.

What do leaders concern themselves with that we can support you to achieve?

Organizational Performance

        economic (financial)

        social (identity and contribution)

        technological (innovations and competitiveness)

        cultural integrity (national interests)

        transparency and governance (responsibility)

value (products and services that address concerns)

        global change

Community

        safety, security, law and order

        economic vitality

social and cultural richness and identity

health and welfare of the community members

        beauty, diversity, education

Why has “sustainability” suddenly captured the imaginations of the marketplace?

The planet earth population is steadily increasing and people are striving for a quality of life enjoyed by the most economically wealthy and powerful. Over the past 50 years of industrial development we find that we have created many messes that threaten our very existence because they have damaged the natural environment (water, air, soil, living things) that support all life.

Additionally, the hoarding of wealth and the abuse of power have marginalized large populations without education, work, and transferable skilled labor producing despair, extremism and violence.

The work of many leaders in business, science, government, education, art, and theater have elevated the sense of urgency around the imbalance of our situation and the “clear and present danger” that we face. As organizational and community leaders we are compelled to look at every way that we can to correct our course while supporting the vitality and creativity of our communities.

Everyday challenges of the leader and manager that we can support you with:

  1. 1.Reading the world of rapid change and directing an organization toward a healthy, lasting future.

  2. 2.Building a team that share the same commitment toward realizing the mission of the organization.

  3. 3.Meeting the short term organizational and/or community results while redesigning and implementing change for the future.

  4. 4.Bringing forth the best work of all employees and a culture of trust, creativity, innovation and reliability.

  5. 5.Branding your values through all levels of the organization and within the customer relationships.

  6. 6.Establishing a performance based culture grounded in clarity of commitments and standards for fulfillment.

  7. 7.Uniting and establishing credibility and trust where gender, cultures, generations and professions provide a broad spectrum of unique cares and concerns.

  8. 8.Do all of this while maintaining your health, relationships, enjoyment and passion for life.
